Problems While Online Shopping

1. In order to make the site more interesting some sites change the name of the shopping cart to (basket, book bag, order)and hence the confusions created. Its adviceable to use the graphic of a shopping cart as it also helps in quick access.Users are familier with the cart terminology and get confused with other words.

2.When BUY button is used instead of ADD TO SHOPPING CART BUTTON , which we have seen, impact a user's willingness to purchase. Buyer hesitate to click the button as he/she may  not be ready to buy it rather they just want to put the stuff into there shopping cart. So, this kind of mistake create a problem while shopping online.

3.Giving little value to visual feedback that an item has been added to the cart also create the state of confusion as people dont get the view of the things added by them to the shopping cart and they keep on clicking the add button two ar three times this result in multiple quantities of the same item.

4.With, visual feedback of the cart's content, there is really no need to take the user to the shopping cart page every time an item is added. In fact, it is disruptive for multi-item shoppers.

5.In place of confirmation of users item addition to the shopping cart users are  forced to accept or reject 'related' items before adding a desired item to the shopping cart. This irritates them a better approach is to place related items (i.e., batteries) on the item page or on the shopping cart page so they have the option to purchase them before checkout.

6.Some sites demand for personal information of the user even befors the stuff is being added to the cart this is a turn-off to users. No user want to reveal there personal information before decision of purchasing.

7.Keeping the deletion of stuff from the shopping cart complicated can be another problem for the user.Remove or Delete button next to an item is a far more intuitive way to achieve this.

8.Many sites require users to enter all shipping, billing, and credit card information before a final cost is provided. This can be a major reason for the drop out of a user as before knowing the final price along with the shipping charges and all consumers dont decide whether he is on with the deal or not.

In this article we identify ten mistakes in shopping cart design, which we have seen, impact a user's willingness to purchase. But there are many more things which cause a reason for a drop out of consumer.
